Big Art clarified

11:53am Tuesday 26th January 2010

The development of the Big Art Project in Cardigan is moving into a new phase following the competition last autumn to find a local architect to redevelop the Strand area of the quayside.

Bankers have a lot to answer for

11:51am Tuesday 26th January 2010

It was with great sadness I read the letter from Emily McAteer - Emily the vet - about the closure of her surgery.

Badger as scapegoat

2:53pm Wednesday 20th January 2010

(“Faced with cull choice”, Tivy-side January 5th) suggest that we look at a badger culling trial from 1970 – years before I was born – when there are far more recent and thorough studies?

Calling the inspector

2:51pm Wednesday 20th January 2010

I am writing to comment on the article in your December 29th issue ‘An Inspector Calls’ featuring the new Cardigan Police Station and to clarify the false impression regarding the (lack of) use of the Custody Suite and holding cells included in the new Station design.

11:55am Thursday 17th December 2009

On behalf of Cardigan ABC I would like to thank everyone who helped make our second show at Aberporth Sports and Social Club such a huge success.

10:26am Wednesday 9th December 2009

In the recent BBC Food and Farming Awards the prize for best food market went to The Goods Shed in Canterbury. The idea for the Goods Shed came from the desire to encourage small local independent retailers to sell local produce. The following is a quote from their web site.

Reassurances over UAVs

4:04pm Wednesday 2nd December 2009

I wish Mark Williams MP luck in his attempts to get "reassurances over testing safety" from the Italian arms manufacturer Selex after the crash of its "Falco" Unmanned Aerial Vehicle at Parc Aberporth in September. But what reassurance does he seek?

Scallop fabrication

3:29pm Wednesday 25th November 2009

In the November 10th Tivy-Side Mr Steve Hartley accuses Mr Kynoch of fabrication. After his outbursts on national television and and local media over the last few months, he now has half the country thinking you can fit an apple tree inside a scallop dredge, the reality is you would be lucky to get a football in there.

Perfect secret ballot

9:37am Tuesday 17th November 2009

If Cllr Haydn Jones is still convinced that a majority of his electorate is in favour of the Cawdor supermarket planning application, why doesn’t he resign his county council seat and stand again in a by-election?

Supermarket would ruin town

11:33am Friday 13th November 2009

In response to the lengthy letter from Kevin Davies defending his plans for development of the Cawdor site as a supermarket, I am one of the hundreds of people who have objected to the planning application, as is my right, because quite simply a Tesco or an Asda or any other of the big chains, would ruin the town.
