CARDIGAN ABC’s spectacular revival continues apace after a trio of boxers won Western Division Box Cup titles at Blaen y Maes in Swansea.
It was a case of sweet revenge for Cardigan’s Josh Mellor who seized the elite open 82kg title with a convincing points win over Eli Walker, of Bonymaen.
Mellor’s remarkable progress can be gauged by the fact he lost to his Swansea opponent in this same competition last year.
Further success came when Crymych’s Caio Jones and Dyfan Lewis, of Eglwyswrw, won novice titles by outpointing Jacob White (Portmead ABC) and Morgan Porter (Briton Ferry ABC) respectively.
Lewis’ win was particularly satisfying as it was a reverse outcome to when the pair last clashed at Cardigan ABC’s show at Crymych.
