Llechryd AFC were the top-scoring team last weekend in the Costcutter Ceredigion League, scoring seven goals in their emphatic 7-2 victory away at Dewi Stars FC.

Lucian Ecans and Craig Gordon both scored twice, while Ben Davies, Alun Williams and Cory Leonard-Davies also got their names onto the scoresheet. Cayo Evans and Tomos Jones replied for the home side.

The win sees Llechryd up to third in division one with two games in hand on top of the table Felinfach, with two points between the two sides, after the ly lost 5-1 away at Ffostrasol, who rise into second.

Ffostrasol are now in prime position in second place and with three games in hand on the frontrunners after the victory.

Cardigan Town also scored highly, in a dominating display in front of their home crowd as they notched a 6-0 win at home to Bargod Rangers.

Jordan Griffiths and Llion Williams both scored twice for the Magpies, with the other two goals being scored by Iwan James and Josh Mellor.

Crymych also maintained their fourth placed position with a 3-1 away win at Crannog.

Rhodri George, Danny Williams and Tom Campbell netted, while Osian Mason-Evans scored the home side’s consolation.

The only other top-flight match played at the weekend saw Llanboidy climb out of the bottom two after a much-needed 3-2 win away at Llandysul.

The match of the day however, had to go to the Second Division clash between New Quay FC and Aberporth, with the top of the table match ending in a 4-4 draw.

Oliver Edwards scored a brace for the home side, as William Davies and Glenn Baldwin also scored for New Quay.

Aberporth’s Matthew Storer also netted twice, with goals from John Midgley and Daniel Nichol also earning a point for the visitors.

The two sides still sit first and second in the table with 13 points, one ahead of Ffostrasol Reserves, who were dominated in a 4-0 win away at Lampeter.

Terry Witts scored twice, and Rhys Bowden and Owen Harrison also got their names on the scoresheet.

With Maesglas against Crannog Reserves postponed, the only other game played in division two was Pencader United’s 3-2 win away at Aberaeron Reserves.

Joe Russetti added to Bradley Rowland’s brace, with Bryn Evans and Aled Davies scoring the home side’s two goals.
