RISING teenage darts star Justin Smith of Cardigan was in superb form in winning the Cardigan Open Singles Championship at the town's Dragon Wine Bar.
The 19-year-old, who competes on the Professional Darts Corporation circuit, is better known locally as a goalkeeper with St Dogmaels Football Club in the Costcutter League, but gave his darts skills a thorough airing on Sunday.
Smith took the £300 first prize after a 5-3 final win over Dan Thomas of Aberdare, the runner-up picking up a £100 prize.
Top PDC world player Jamie Lewis, formerly of Cardigan and now of Carmarthen, was knocked out in the second round when going down 3-2 against local darter Aaron Morris.
