ABERPORTH Rowing Club acame home with a bronze medal from the European Cup in Reno, Italy.
Despite breaking an oar and losing our rudder the Ladies Team made it to the finals and won bronze – only beaten by the home elite teams.
The Fixed Seat Italian Rowing Federation and Sport Club Renese was hosting the event on Lake Maggiore.
The regatta took place in typical Italian lake boats with four rowers and a coxswain.
It was a new experience and the two teams only had the opportunity to train and to try out the boats on the 4km course with Italian coaches on the Friday before the event.
The team consisted of cox Nathan Jones (Llangrannog), Sam English, Leanne Vittle, Hayley Morris and Sarah Skinner.
