A SPATE of recent postponements due to the weather has prompted Costcutter League officials to consider dropping the traditional ‘Blank Saturday’ for fixtures just before Christmas.
Down the years the Saturday before Christmas Day has traditionally been left free of games to enable club members to do Christmas shopping.
The same scenario was to apply a week on Saturday (December 19) but because of recent postponements, league officials are anxious to play as many games as possible to alleviate a possible fixture pile-up at the end of the season.
Any club interested in playing on this day is asked to contact league fixture secretary Aled Davies on 01545 574907 or 07791 605651.
