WITH only five teams in the first division and six in division two there is concern in some quarters over the future of the Cardigan & District Darts League which has existed for several decades.

At the league annual general meeting the formation of one league with eleven teams was mooted but there was reluctance among some for change resulting in a status quo.

The situation has been exacerbated by the closure of public houses and one pub withdrew because of the small number of teams in the divisions.

In the first two weeks of the new season only three games have been played in division one and there are increasing fears for the future.

After last week’s games one long-standing player said “With such a small number of teams surely it would make sense to have one league.”
