COSTCUTTER Football League clubs have vetoed any move to switch the Bay Cup competition to a new slot at the start of a season.
There had been concern over fixture pile-ups towards the end of a season and moving the cup tournament was seen as a way of alleviating this.
The matter was an agenda item at the league annual general meeting but clubs overwhelmingly voted to continue with the present arrangement.
The new season for division one and two clubs starts on Tuesday, August 18 and Wednesday, August 19.
