Crymych 92-AO lost to Pembroke Dock 224-8

CRYMYCH were soundly beaten at home by 132 runs by Pembroke Dock on Saturday.

The Dock opened the batting with Scott Brunton top scoring with an undefeated 64, alongside decent innings from team-mates Jake Griffiths (52) and Nick Daley (49), posting 224- 8 at tea.

Crymych’s wicket takers were Alan Luke 3-55 and Steffan Williams 2-40.

In reply, the hosts were always behind the run rate despite Marc Thomas reaching 66 not out, but no one stayed long enough with Thomas as Crymych were all out for a disappointing 92 runs, Dock’s wicket takers were Nick Daley 3-26, Scott Brunton 2-19 and John Cumani 2-15 that secured the victory and 30 precious league points.

However, in midweek, Crymych 84-0 beat Pembroke Dock 80-AO in the semi final of the Alan Brown Cup. Only Jake Griffiths (23) reached double figures as Crymych’s Alan Luke 3-5 and Andrew Thomas 3-30 ripped through the visitors’ batting line-up.

In reply, openers Richard Thorne 37no and Osian Wynn 44no batted superbly to guide Crymych to a brilliant ten-wicket victory.

Crymych will play Stackpole in the Alan Brown final on Sunday, July 5 at Whitland Cricket Club.
