St Dogmaels player/manager Steve Jerry Williams was expecting his charges to be severely tested against New Quay at Parc Arthur.

And his trepidation over the trip north appeared well founded as the Division One leaders trailed to a Craig Richardson goal at the interval.

But a tongue-lashing from the boss galvanized the Teifi Estuary villagers who turned on the style during the second period and ran out 5-1 winners.

With neighbours and joint Division One leaders Cardigan Town on cup duty Saints drew three points clear at the top and on current form it is clear someone will have to produce something special to halt the bandwagon.

After Richardson’s 25-yarder whistled past Justin Smith to put the Seasiders ahead it then became the Trefor Woodgate show as the Saints front-runner recaptured his exploits of last season with four goals and Lee Burrows was also on target.

Like Saints and Cardigan Town reigning champions Newcastle Emlyn are also unbeaten but the Reds had to pull out all the stops to spring a 1-0 win over full-of-fight Crannog at the Urdd Centre.

Former Maesglas and Cardigan Town front-runner Phil Furney stole the limelight for the visitors with the all-important goal and Emlyn clung on for maximum points.

Lampeter Town are also in the mix near the summit after handing out a six-of-the-best caning to Aberporth at North Road where Gethin Davies and Terry Witts bagged a brace of goals apiece. Scymon Konwiak and Luke Lovell were the other marksmen.

Felinfach were successful for the second time when emerging 4-2 winners at Llandysul where leading marksman Kieron Boyce Boyes got all the visitors’ goals.

Llandysul will be hoping for better fortune this Saturday but face a huge task when taking on St Dogmaels at School Field while Cardigan Town host fellow townies Maesglas at King George V Playing Fields and New Quay welcome Newcastle Emlyn to Parc Arthur.
