Crymych showed that they can live with the best in Division One West with a first-rate all-round team performance in seeing off second in the table Kidwelly 21-13 at Parc Lloyd Thomas.

Belying their lowly league position the north Pembrokeshire villagers took the game to their opponents from the word go and victory was no more than their efforts deserved.

Playing into a strong wind during the opening 40 minutes Crymych trailed 10-5 at the break, their points coming from an unconverted try by winger Gavin Thomas.

No. 8 Jonathan Williams went in for a try for the visitors converted by fullback Gareth Rees who also landed a penalty.

As Crymych asserted control during the second period and camped inside the Kidwelly 22 the homesters were awarded a penalty try, converted by scrum-half Rhys Davies who also landed three penalties.

Cardigan completed back-to-back victories in Division Three West with a 59-5 win over bottom but one Tumble at King George V Playing Field.

The game was over as a serious contest before the interval as the Cardis went into an unassailable 38-5 lead and ran in three further tries during the second half.
