TWO men claiming to be county council scrap collectors are not who they say they are, Dyfed-Powys Police has said.
The drivers of a white van were spotted near Tenby Court, Monkton, on Tuesday.
One resident was approached by them, and told they were collecting scrap on behalf of the county council.
A police spokesman said: "Dyfed-Powys Police has received calls about a white van being driven suspiciously around a residential area of Monkton, Pembroke.
"The reports were received on Tuesday, February 20.
"The two men are allegedly claiming to be working for Pembrokeshire County Council, which is not the case.
"Anyone who sees the van in their area, is urged to report it immediately to police by calling 999 if the suspicious incident is on-going, or 101 if reporting the van after it has been in the area."
A Pembrokeshire County Council spokesman has also warned residents to be vigilant, and ask to see identification from anyone claiming to work on their behalf.
Anyone in any doubt should contact the county council before handing over money, or refuse.
