WORK to protect buildings at Cardigan Castle has been completed this week.
Sheeting over the roofs of buildings within the walls has now been erected and the sides are also to be sheeted to protect the stonework from any further deterioration.
Updating members of Cardigan Town Council this week on progress at the Castle, Cllr Alan Wilson also said that work is continuing to compile a photo-record of the buildings; and work is ongoing to keep the grounds clean.
Tenders for the feasibility study on the Castle are now being considered by the Cadwgan Trust and tenders are awaited for a full survey of the buildings.
The Trust is also in talks with a number of agencies and organisations about potential uses for the buildings and grounds.
Cllr Llwyd Edwards said: "It's good to see the covers on. I just hope I shall see them come off again in my lifetime!"
