A REQUEST by the Cadwgan Building Preservation Trust, for support in its bid to buy Ty Castell (Quick Chip) is to be urgently considered by Ceredigion County Council.
Cadwgan wants the council to act as guarantor for a loan from the Architectural Heritage Fund that could secure the Trust's purchase of what it calls "the final piece in the Cardigan castle jig-saw".
Legal and corporate services director Bronwen Morgan is to report back to the authority's Cabinet as soon as possible.
"I will bring back a report to Cabinet on the issues involved in this, including the legislation regarding the council acting as a guarantor," she told councillors last week.
