The wonderful weather this year ensured a bumper show, entries up on last year, particularly in the fruit and flower sections. Of particular note were the large number of entries, from children, especially from Ysgol Cilgerran.

The show president was Dr Madeleine Havard, director of operations, South and West Wales Wildlife Trust. Laura Ridley, this year's coracle queen, presented her with a bouquet of flowers.

Show chairman, Tony Thomas, thanked the exhibitors, patrons and vice presidents for their support, namely Cllr Joan Bird, Mrs Delyth Jenkins, Mrs Sylvia Thomas and Mr Bill Thompson, and the many 'back room' helpers, Ossie Bravey and Bill Thompson at the door; Meryl Lloyd and Chris Thomas, raffle; Ann Bravey, Pam Thompson and Mary Phillips in the kitchen provided much needed refreshments; June Smith and her clerks who booked all the exhibits in and worked on the points afterwards, and all the other members of the committee who did the stewarding, and all the very hard work, which goes into staging the show and clearing away afterwards. Many thanks to the festive week committee for the loan of the marquee and the setting up thereof.
