Corus 59 points Cardigan 22 points
Cardigan found Corus too hot to handle in Port Talbot, the former Steel Company of Wales having too much fire-power as they grabbed a penalty try and eight other scores to maintain their concerted thrust for promotion. The Cardis trailed 28-10 at half time and although they never gave up trying to play good rugby they were never able to gain the initiative as influential flanker Terry Thomas and pacy winger Chris Bowditch both crossed for two tries each.
Cardigan's young winger Huw Davies again showed his paces as he also crossed for a try brace and skipper Barry John raced in for a try as outside half Gareth Mason slotted a first-half penalty and two later conversions. But Corus added other tries by flanker James McKenna, hooker Steve James, centre Darren Clark and full back Peter Thomas, who also landed three conversions. The rest of their points came from four conversions by influential outside half Adrian John - and Cardigan had to settle for a third defeat in six league matches despite their whole-hearted efforts.
