READING material at Cardigan Show was selling like proverbial hot cakes.
Not a single show catalogue was available just before lunch and the Show Society's 150th Anniversary Book was also selling well.
It was compiled and produced by Betty and Islwyn Griffiths, Cardigan, who before retirement farmed for many years at Tafarn y Bugail, where their pedigree Holstein herd consistently won honours galore.
Gleaning information relating to the show over the last century and a half was something they found a fascinating exercise.
They are grateful to all who lent them a hand, including the Ceredigion Archives staff, the Carmarthenshire Archives Office, the Tivy-Side, and countless members and supporters of the show society, whose general secretary, Mrs Gill Jones was especially helpful.
"The book (price £6) has been very well received and all the profits from it will go to charity - to the Wales Air Ambulance and Macmillan Nurses Appeals," explained Betty.
