A LOCAL radio station is returning to the airwaves – less than four months after broadcasting what appeared to be its final show.

Under the guidance of station manager Bobby Kelly, Cardigan Radio – formerly Cardigan Internet Radio Limited – built up a loyal following of listeners following its launch in April 2021.

Yet forced run on a shoestring budget, the not-for-profit organisation faced a relentless battle to survive in the face of rising insurance costs while its team of volunteers suffered a fresh blow when a brick was thrown through the window of their Pwllhai property during a live shown in March of last year.

However, when Mr Kelly announced in September Cardigan Radio was going off air last September due to increasing costs, he insisted it was not the end of the road.

"We'll be back, you'll see,” he said.

And this week a jubilant Mr Kelly was able to announce the relaunch of the station (www.cardiganinternetradio.wales) in a Facebook post.

“We're on the lookout for passionate individuals to join our incredible team,” he added. “If you love music, have a knack for presenting, or want to assist behind the scenes, we want to hear from you!

“Send us an email at support@cardiganinternetradio.wales – come and be a part of something amazing and help us bring fantastic music to our listeners.

Spread the word and let's make Cardigan Radio bigger and better together!”
