CARMARTHENSHIRE County Council recently approved two planning applications in the Llandysul area.

Tarmac off-street parking at front of property in Llandysul

Plans for tarmac off-street parking at the front of a property on Maes Y Deri, Pentre-Cwrt, Llandysul, were approved by the council.

The application also includes plans to demolish the boundary wall to the right hand side of the front gate and the tarmac area would be around 6x4m.

Carmarthenshire County Council granted permission on November 15 with the conditions that the work is started within five years of the approval date and carried out in line with the approved plans.

There is also a condition that the vehicular access must be left open, unimpeded by gates at all times and no part of the access and visibility splays can be obstructed at any time. The final condition is that the parking space is only to be used in association with the development.

Retention of garden room to rear of dwelling in Llandysul

A garden room built at the back of a property in Llandysul will be able to be kept.

An application was submitted for the property in Velindre to be able to keep the garden room at the rear of the property. It was built between June 1, 2020, and July 1, 2020. It was initially built as an arts studio and general use as a garden room but the applicants didn’t think it needed planning permission as it would benefit from permitted development rights, but this was not the case so they were asked to put in the planning application.

Carmarthenshire County Council approved the garden room on November 20 with the condition that the work was done in June 2020 and was done in line with the approved plans. It must also only be used for private domestic purposes in line with the main accommodation and should not be leased, sold, rented or otherwise disposed of as a separate unit of accommodation.
