CEREDIGION County Council has revealed where it will be implementing a number of one-way traffic systems across the county.

The council has introduced more than 20 one-way systems or prohibition of right/left turns in the Cardigan, New Quay, Aberaeron and Aberystwyth areas. They are at the following locations:

Cardigan

  • College Row: One way traffic from High Street towards the junction with Queen’s Terrace/Middle Mwldan by Greenfield car park.
  • Pwllhai on the western arm from by the rear boundary between no 30 and 31 Priory Street to High Street, over a distance of approximately 20metres: One way traffic towards High Street.
  • Chancery Lane: One way traffic from St Mary Street towards High Street.
  • Upper Mwldan from the exit of the pay and display car park: Prohibition of left turn onto College Row.
  • Middle Mwldan: Prohibition of right turn onto College Row.

New Quay

  • Water Street from its junction with Albion Terrace/Lewis Terrace to the junction with High Street/Marine Terrace: One way traffic towards the seafront.
  • Marine Terrace: Prohibition of right turn onto Water Street.
  • High Street: Prohibition of left turn onto Water Street.

Aberaeron

  • Lower Regent Street from the northern boundary of the pay and display car park to the seafront link road between Tabernacle Street and Lower Regent Street: One way traffic towards the seafront.
  • The seafront link road between Tabernacle Street and Lower Regent Street: One way traffic from Lower Regent Street towards Tabernacle Street.
  • Tabernacle Street: One way traffic from the seafront towards Market Street.
  • Market Street: One way traffic from Tabernacle Street towards the TRA487.
  • Waterloo Street: Prohibition of left turn onto Tabernacle Street.
  • Glanymor: Prohibition of right turn onto Tabernacle Street.

Aberystwyth

  • Pier Street: One way traffic from Great Darkgate Street towards the seafront.
  • Terrace Road the section from its junction with Marine Terrace to its junctions with Portland Street (that extends between Queen’s Road and Terrace Road) and Upper Portland Street (that extends between Terrace Road and Eastgate): One way traffic from the seafront to junctions with Portland Street (that extends between Queen’s Road and Terrace Road) and Upper Portland Street (that extends between Terrace Road and Eastgate).
  • Bath Street: One way traffic from Terrace Road towards Queen’s Road.
  • Pier Street: One way traffic from Great Darkgate Street towards the seafront.
  • Eastgate: Prohibition of left turn onto Pier Street.
  • King Street: Prohibition of right turn onto Pier Street.
  • Portland Street that extends between Queen’s Road and Terrace Road: Prohibition of right turn onto Terrace Road.
  • Upper Portland Street that extends between Terrace Road and Eastgate: Prohibition of left turn onto Terrace Road.
  • Portland Road: Prohibition of right turn onto Terrace Road.
  • Queens Road: Prohibition of left and right turn onto Bath Street.
