TWO plans related to properties and land in the Teifi area have been approved by Carmarthenshire County Council.

Area for hardstanding parking places in Velindre, Llandysul

A retrospective planning application has been approved by Carmarthenshire County Council for a hard standing area for additional parking spaces at Fron Rafel, Velindre, Llandysul.

The application was submitted by Mr and Mrs Steve Drewett and means that the hard standing for additional parking on a 0.10 hectare plot is allowed to stay.

The hard standing was created on May 24, 2017, and completed on August 28, 2017. It is not going to increase the number of units of accommodation which had been granted on a previous application.

Carmarthenshire County Council granted the application on August 8, with conditions that it remain in line with the submitted and approved plans, is unobstructed and for the purpose of parking only, access gates must be 12.5metres from the highway boundary and open inwards, and there are no more than five caravan pitches on the site at any one time.

Conversion of storage loft to accommodation in Newcastle Emlyn

Plans to turn a large storage loft into a habitable accommodation and to form two openings at the side/north facing elevation overlooking the River Teifi have been approved by Carmarthenshire County Council.

The application had been submitted by Mr and Mrs M Fowler and will see the openings being on the ground floor and the loft at a property at Cenarth Mill, Newcastle Emlyn. The windows and doors will be timber to match the existing.

The council approved the application on August 7 with the condition that works begin within five years of the approval and that the development is carried out in line with the submitted and approved plans and that a lighting scheme should be submitted to the relevant planning department before any lighting is installed.
