A CEREDIGION resident has been given a suspended prison sentence for being four times over the drink drive limit.
Thomas Davies, 46, of New Quay, admitted drink driving at Llanelli Magistrates Court on July 13.
He admitted that on June 21, he drove a Ford Focus on the A48 Cross Hands with 142 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
He was given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months due to the very high reading.
He was also banned from driving for 36 months and ordered to carry out a rehabilitation activity requirement for 25 days, and 200 hours of unpaid work.
He also had to pay £154 surcharge and £85 costs.
Max Pickthall, 29, of Station Road, Tregaron, admitted drug driving at Aberystwyth Magistrates Court on July 13.
He admitted that on March 17, he drove a Ford Focus on Station Road, Tregaron, whilst over the drug drive limit with 8 micrograms of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in his blood. The legal limit is 2 micrograms.
He was banned from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £80 fine, £32 surcharge and £85 costs.
