A SCREENING of a record-breaking production will take place in Cardigan in July.
Cardigan’s Mwldan will host a screening of the National Theatre’s Oklahoma! on two days next month.
The Olivier Award-winning production of the musical by Rodgers & Hammerstein was recorded during its 1998 record-breaking run in London and will be brought to the screen for two nights only.
It features a cast including then-newcomer and now huge star Hugh Jackman (known for Les Misérables, The Greatest Showman and Wolverine) as Curly and also features Maureen Lipman, Josefina Gabrielle and Shuler Hensley.
It is directed by Trevor Nunn (CATS, Les Misérables) and choreographed by Susan Stroman. Oklahoma! features songs such as ‘Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’’, ‘The Surrey with the Fringe on Top’ and titular tune ‘Oklahoma.’
Oklahoma! is rated as 12A and will be screened at Mwldan at 2pm on Sunday, July 16 and 7pm on Wednesday, July 19. Tickets cost £16 or £15 for concessions and can be bought at www.mwldan.co.uk or by calling 01239 621 200 between 12pm and 8pm Tuesday to Sunday.
