TWO drivers have recently appeared in court for driving offences.

Daniel Lee Jones, 37, of Old Road, Skewen, was found guilty of driving without satisfactory registration plates by Llanelli Magistrates Court on January 16.

He was caught driving a Land Rover Defender on July 7 at Drefach, Llandysul with the rear registration plate failing to comply with regulations as the letters and numbers were incorrectly spaced, there was no manufacturers label on the plate and it did not carry a British Standard kite mark.

He was ordered to pay £220 fine, £88 surcharge and £90 costs.

David John Davies, 35, of Llwyncelyn, Aberaeron, was found guilty of failing to comply with the indication given by road markings by Llanelli Magistrates Court on January 18.

On May 19, he drove a Volkswagen Transporter on the A483 Newton where he was driving at a speed over the 30mph limit and crossed the double white lines.

He was fined £76, given three points on his licence and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £110 costs. He avoided a driving ban due to mitigating circumstances.
