A Lampeter woman has been ordered to pay more than 20 times the train fare she was found guilty of trying to avoid.
Kirstie Taylor, 36, of Tai Pedr, was found guilty of travelling on a train without a ticket by Cardiff Magistrates Court on January 4.
She committed the offence on September 27 when she entered a train between Carmarthen and Llanelli without having a valid ticket for travel.
She was fined £220 – more than 20 times the £10.10 fare – and ordered to pay the £10.10 fare in compensation, £88 surcharge and £100 costs.
