A Ceredigion man was found guilty of driving offences in his absence.

Matthew Kite, 47, of Bryn yr Eglwys, Lampeter, was found guilty of three driving offences by Llanelli Magistrates Court on November 30.

Kite was accused of one count of being a driver and failing to stop after a road accident, a count of driving without due care and attention and a count of being the driver of a vehicle involved in a road accident and failing to report the accident.

The charges relate to an incident on May 28 at Sainsbury’s car park, Lampeter where he was driving an Audi A4 and caused damage to a BMW 320D.

He failed to appear at court and was found guilty of all three charges in his absence.

He was fined £440, given six points on his licence and ordered to pay £44 surcharge and £110 costs.
