A FUND-RAISING effort has been launched to help secure the future of Cylch Meithrin Teifi Adpar.

Cylch Meithrin Teifi Adpar is the only pre-school educational facility in Newcastle Emlyn and has been based at the old council offices at Byryn Derwen since opening in 1973.

However, the Cylch is now being forced to move and after a long search a new building has been found at the old Vestry on Water Street in Newcastle Emlyn and it will be moving in September.

However in order to bring the building up to standard to pass inspection, the Meithrin is facing costs running into thousands of pounds.

Now parents with children at the cylch are taking part in a sponsored walk from Aberporth to Cardigan on Saturday, June 23 at 10am.

Cylch leader Jill James said: “We are looking to raise as much money as possible to keep us moving forward and any donations or help will be welcome.

“We currently have 13 children registered but not too long ago we had 37 and it does vary.”

A fund-raising page has been set up and anyone wishing to donate can go to justgiving.com/crowdfunding/meithrinteifiadpar
