HYWEL Dda health board seems to be suffering from a case of mistaken identity after putting up incorrect signs for the new Cardigan Integrated Health Care Centre.

Work is starting on the controversial £24m scheme at Bathhouse Road but the sign pointing to the Bathhouse Road site states ‘Cwm Taf University Health Board’ – not Hywel Dda.

Long-time critic of the location of the new health centre, Cllr John Adams-Lewis, said: “So Cwm Taf University Health Board is to build Cardigan's Integrated Health Centre!

“This is so, according to the details on the newly-erected board at the entrance to the development at Rhodfa'r Felin - or is it yet another blunder by the Hywel Dda University Health Board?

“How can they instil the necessary confidence when they simply cannot provide the correct information stipulating the relevant Health Board?

"It is little wonder that they have accrued a deficit of over £50m."

Peter Skitt, project director and county director and commissioner for Ceredigion at Hywel Dda University Health Board said: “We are aware of the error on the signage and arrangements are underway to replace it with one that includes the logo for Hywel Dda University Health Board, rather than Cwm Taf Health Board.

“We apologise for any confusion this error may have caused.”
