THIS week sees the official opening of a new Cylch Ti a Fi in the area based at Ysgol Cenarth. The Cylch Ti a Fi Ysgol Cenarth will meet every Monday at the school and an open invitation is extended to everyone to attend.

The leader is mother of two Catrin Evans and she is looking forward to welcoming parents from all areas to support the new Cylch.

She said: “Establishing this new group is a positive approach to supporting rural small local schools and to keep them open.

“Parents can come here and see the school, familiarize themselves with the place and feel at home as they meet other new parents. We will also integrate with the meithrin here in the school and work together.

“We will be promoting the Welsh language but non-Welsh speakers needn’t be afraid. We are here to help and support parents as we organise a variety of bilingual activities from Folly Farm trips to monthly public speakers with representatives from the police, fire, health visitors and such,” said Catrin.

Craft activities will be undertaken weekly as well as outside activities when the weather allows.

“One activity already organised is the sun flower growing session where children get to plant their own sun flower and watch it grow, as they themselves grow,” said mother of two Jessie Davis, chair of the Cylch.

“This group is not only an ideal opportunity for parents to get together, it’s also a terrific opportunity for parents who have moved into the area to get to know each other and to know what’s available locally and we hope it will be well supported in a friendly atmosphere.”

Catrin added: “We hope parents will come along to have a cup of tea and a chat and to see their children playing with others and to share their ideas and needs.”

Cylch Ti a Fi Ysgol Cenarth will open its doors every Monday at 9.15am for a two-hour session. The initial taster session is free, and thereafter a £2 donation will be required that will go towards all Cylch activities, refreshments and fruit.
