FORMER Ferwig and Cardigan Secondary school pupil Nia Lewis of Mount Pleasant Farm near Cardigan is playing a key role in the Brexit negotiations for Wales in Belgium.
She has recently been appointed as chief officer at Ty Cymru, Wales’ Brussels office and during her 15 years in Brussels, has worked alongside a variety of MPs and AMs.
Nia, daughter of former Ceredigion county councillor Haydn and retired school teacher Lowri Lewis, lives in the Ixells region of Brussels with husband Alfredo and their seven-year-old son Ioan.
On leaving school, Nia gained a BA in politics at the Sheffield Hallam University, followed by a BA in modern languages at the University of Marseilles in France, then an MSc in international politics at Aberystwyth.
