THE villages of Llangeodmor and Llechryd joined together for a service of remembrance on Saturday, November 11.
The service, taken by the Rev Alan Kent, was held at the Church of the Holy Cross of St David, Llechryd.
The church, designated as a sacred ruin and maintained by Llangoedmor Community Council, was last year host to a dedication service following the erection of a plaque dedicated to all those from the villages of Llangeodmor and Llechryd who had fought for their country.
This year, following the remembrance service, the Rev Alan Kent dedicated a bench of remembrance, built by local company Jonathan Price Metalwork of Capel Iwan.
Clerk to the Community Council, Mrs Sue Davies said: "Llangeodmor Community Council wanted to create a public place, in the absence of a War Memorial in the villages, where residents and visitors could come to pay their respects.
"The Role of Honour is in the school buildings and not easily accessible to members of the public."
