MYSTERY surrounds the sudden closure of an award-winning Indian restaurant in Newcastle Emlyn.

Yamsin’s, in Sycamore Street, was today closed with an illegal working closure notice in the window served by the Immigration Enforcement Agency.

It read: “Access to the following premises is prohibited unless you are authorised in writing by an immigration officer.

“Both paid and voluntary work at the above premises is prohibited.”

An application was being made to Swansea Magistrates’ Court for an illegal working compliance order.

It is understood the restaurant was open for business as usual last night (Thursday September 21).

One local resident, who did not want to be named, said: “No-one who lives round here has seen or heard anything.”

The Tivy-Side has been unable to contact anyone associated with the business.
