WITH only a few weeks gone by since the launch of the community's efforts to purchase the iconic Tafarn Sinc pub, more than £50,000 has already been raised.

A second public meeting to update the community on the developments to date is being help by campaign organisers on Monday, August 14 at 7.30pm in the Village Hall in Maenclochog.

Cris Tomos of PLANED community development, which is supporting the campaign, said: "This second public meeting will be held to confirm the plans for the next eight weeks and to agree the names of the new committee members for Cymdeithas Tafarn Sinc Association.

"We have seen many local shops and garages taking bundles of the share offer documents, but anyone else wishing to distribute the forms can contact PLANED in Narberth to be added to the list."

So far, £51,400 has been raised by the campaign. The new committee will be discussing the business plan for the new venture and to budget a return on investment for those who are purchasing the £200 shares along with the HMRC tax incentive for investors, where under the Enterprise Investment Scheme other assets purchased through community shares, are able to show investors how they can claim back 30 per cent on a tax relief scheme.

Anyone interested in purchasing a share pledge can visit www.tafarnsinc.cymru or contact PLANED on 01834 860965.

Forms are currently available at the following shops: Clunderwen Shop, Caffi Beca, Tafarn Sinc, Siop Glandy Cross, Caffi Garreg Las, Clwb Rygbi Crymych, Maenclochog Hardware, Maenclochog Garage, Awen Teifi, Ken Davies Butcher, Crymych, with additional shops soon to be announced.
