ORGANISERS of the annual Newcastle Emlyn Carnival are hoping this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever and look to involve the whole town.

The carnival kicks off on Saturday June 17 on the football club field at 2pm, and there will be sports and a barbecue.

On Sunday June 18, there will be a youth service at Ebeneser Chapel at 9.45am.

The traditional Bryndioddef Race then takes place on Tuesday June 20. Well over 100 runners took part last year, with this year’s event starting from the football club at 6pm. An adult must run with any child from year one and under. It costs £2 to enter.

A new event will the a family treasure hunt on Wednesday June 21, starting from the mart car park at 6pm. Entry fee is £5 per car.

The fun and games finish with a children’s carnival disco at Newcastle Emlyn Rugby Club on Friday June 23 from 6pm-8.30pm. Also this year there will be a trophy awarded to the best dressed commercial building window in the town.
