Coleg Ceredigion vocational access lecturer, Maggie Neville has been recognised for her good practice in Welsh and bilingual education.
Maggie was presented with a Sgiliaith award for Welsh delivery at a conference organised by the national training body at Newtown.
She commented: “I am really pleased to have received this award from Sgiliaith. The award scheme is very worthwhile in that it encourages tutors to develop and demonstrate new approaches to bilingual and Welsh teaching. "
Canolfan Sgiliaith offers support on bilingualism and Welsh and English communication skills for the post-14 education sector.
They aim to offer practical advice on good practice, staff training and resources, with the aim of enhancing learners’ bilingual skills and experiences.
Anna ap Robert, Welsh language advisor at Coleg Ceredigion, said: “This is fantastic news and a great achievement for Maggie. Bilingualism and the Welsh language is an essential part of Coleg Ceredigion’s provision, and this award affirms the college’s commitment to promote the use of the Welsh language.”
