Celebrating International Women's Day, reminds everyone of the importance of the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women.

The achievements of Coleg Ceredigion’s show trailblazing work in accelerating gender parity.

Coleg Ceredigion achieves a high level of woman at work.

They account for 70% of its Board of Governors, 78% of its executive board members, and 66% of its whole workforce across its two campuses.

Chwarae Teg, the charity which seeks to create an environment in Wales in which women achieve and prosper, has carried out research.

In 2014 a total of 73% of governing bodies in further education colleges and 87% of university governing bodies are chaired by men.

The report was launched in Swansea University by Ken Skates AM, deputy minister for skills and technology.

Jacqui Weatherburn, Coleg Ceredigion Principal, said: “I am extremely pleased that we are leading the way in breaking the glass ceiling of the board room in Wales. The 2014 report gives a clear message regarding the changes we have to make in Wales to create a more even gender balance and I am delighted that Coleg Ceredigion is making a major contribution to that change.”
