Dyfed Powys Police have confirmed that it was 50 year-old Roger Bevan, a UNISON Area Organiser, who sadly died at a road traffic collision on the B4337 near Cilcennin, Lampeter on Tuesday, July 14.
The two vehicle collision occurred at approximately 5.45pm on the July 14. Mr Bevan, who was driving a Red VW Golf was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 21 year- old male driver of a red Honda Civic also involved in the collision remains in hospital at this time and is in a stable condition.
A detailed investigation is underway into the cause of the collision with specialist officers dedicated to the enquiry.
On Thursday, July 16, the Senior Coroner for Ceredigion, Mr PL Brunton opened an inquest into the death of Mr Bevan from Swansea.
Evidence of identification was taken and the Inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
Police have said that a number of witnesses have been identified and they are working to interview these over the coming days whilst continuing to support the families of those involved.
