Runaway child molester Colin Richard Shearing has been arrested and is finally behind bars.
Shearing, an author, fled to France after a jury at Swansea crown court convicted him of twice sexually assaulting a girl of six.
The offences happened while he was living in St Dogmaels and Poppit Sands during the 1980s.
Shearing, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, ran away to Paris and was not present when Judge Huw Davies jailed him for three years.
He had booked into the Hotel des Nations, Paris, and then moved to a second hotel and then a third to stay one step ahead of the police.
Judge Davies issued a European wide arrest warrant for 70 year old Shearing, who lived during more recent years in Chichester.
The warrant has now been executed and Shearing is due back at Swansea crown court tomorrow to be told what the additional sentence for absconding will be.
