Clynfyw Care Farm’s Wheelie Good Idea is continuing its successful scheme to send shipping containers of refurbished mobility aids to Africa.

The latest container arrived at the Abercych farm last week, and loading has already started.

Dylan Thomas Cranes delivered the next container which will be filled and shipped to Kenya in the first half of 2015.

“We are working with ResponsAble Assistance from Newport, Gwent on this load," said Clynfyw’s Jim Bowen.

“They have partnered with the Kibweze Disabled Person’s Organisation to set up a rural health centre in Eastern Kenya and this load will really help them get started.”

Clynfyw sent to loads to South Africa last year, and this is the first going to Kenya.

Mr Bowen added: "We are so grateful to Dylan Thomas and everyone else who has supported the project from donating equipment they no longer need to giving up time to help load the container. It continues to be a great team effort."

The organisation holds coffee mornings for different causes on the second Friday of each month. On March13 there will be a beach clearance on Poppet Sands in aid of Surfers Against Sewage.

A Social Club runs every Tuesday evening and aCarers Support Group takes place on the last Tuesday of each month.

Clynfyw is currently appealing for unwanted wheelchairs, old glasses, gardening equipment or children’s games.
