Residents of the Newport area are being given the opportunity to acknowledge an unsung hero or heroine.
Nominations could include someone who has improved the neighbourhood, a tireless charity fundraiser, an inspirational teacher, or just a person they want to thank for working away for the benefit of the community behind the scenes.
Nominating their unsung hero or heroine will ensure that the person is publicly acknowledged and receive their award at the Launch of the Good Neighbour Scheme, at 2pm. The launch is part of “Connecting Newport - an awareness and fun day”, taking place on March 10, 11am to 5pm in Newport Memorial Hall.
Nomination forms and voting boxes will be located in local shops, pubs and Newport post office. Closing date for nominations is March. 4.
