A Cardigan woman has been fined £200 after she was caught speeding at 66mph through a 40mph zone.
Gwynyth Irene Hughes, aged 51 of 35 North Road, pleaded guilty to exceeding the speed limit when she appeared before Aberystwyth magistrates on Wednesday.
The court heard that Hughes, who previously had a clean driver’s licence, was caught speeding in a Vauxhall Corsa on the A487 near Blaennerch on June 7.
Alan Lewis, defending, said it was a very unusual place to be stopped, and was previously a 60mph limit.
He added: “She is genuinely remorseful. Her driving licence is very important to her.”
She was fiend £200, and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
Her licence was endorsed with six penalty points.
