Students and staff from Coleg Ceredigion held a highly successful venture at the annual Cardigan Castle Christmas Fair in the Guild Hall at Cardigan recently.

The college’s marquee occupied a prominent spot in the Guild Hall courtyard with staff and students selling a variety of products created by students.

Among the activities and products on offer were hair curling and hand massages by Coleg Ceredigion’s training salon, Academi Steil, students, bespoke Christmas cards made by the IT department, Welsh cakes, mince pies, chilli jam, marmalade and chutney made by the Catering department and hand-made Christmas decorations, coasters and other assorted wooden items and bird boxes made by the furniture department.

Free Mulled Wine and freshly baked Welsh cake tasters were handed out by college staff throughout the day.

During the afternoon Coleg Ceredigion Childcare students held a free workshop for children in the Radley Room to coincide with the fair. “Santa’s Workshop” included various activities for young children such as face painting, card making, creative crafts and games whilst offering parents an opportunity to join in or to take a well earned break.

“This was a fantastic opportunity for the public to see the training and skills on offer at the college and for students to showcase their work and expertise,” said Rhiannon Elias, Director of Curriculum and Learners at Cardigan.
