The UNO Project has been launched. The project, begun in December 2013 and has engaged with 40 disabled young people across Ceredigion with ages between 14 and 25 years developing life skills for adult life.

Ellen Ap Gwynn, the leader of Ceredigion County Council opened the meeting saying that it was essential to encourage people with disabilities to be as independent as possible. “UNO” is delivered by a partnership between DASH, Crossroads Mid and West Wales Care and Cantref. Jo Kennaugh the Development Officer for DASH thanked the Big Lottery for funding the 5 year project under the Bright New Futures programme. Lin Martin, the Service Development Manager from Crossroads Care Mid & West Wales, said how much their staff had enjoyed supporting the young people in residential stays and workshops. Jill Nicholls Lowry represented Cantref which had sourced one of their fully accessible properties in Llanilar for the project. Pamela Marsden, the Uno Coordinator gave a presentation of photographs showing all the activities which the young people had participated in over the last first year of the project. Fifty people attended the afternoon and time was given for questions and networking.
