A delicious home-cooked lunch in a warm, cosy environment surrounded by friendly faces and good conversation is top of the menu as St Mary’s Church gears up to host its first community lunch of the season.

The meal takes place next Tuesday, October 28 at St Mary’s Old School Hal, opposite the church from 12 noon until 1.30pm and will subsequently be held on the last Tuesday of each month. “This is a sociable occasion that gives people the chance to meet friends and to make new ones,” said organiser Angela Brown. “Everyone is very welcome to come along, join us for some food and have a good time.”

Diners can feast upon a choice of soup with roll and cheese, a wide choice of puddings, teas and coffees all for the modest price of £5. The soups and puddings are all homemade and are donated and prepared by the ladies of St Mary’s Church.
