Ceredigion MP Mark Williams met with Police and Crime Commissioner Christopher Salmon to press the case for a police station in Llandysul last week.

Mr Williams raised concerns expressed by many of his constituents about the loss of a police station in Llandysul.

He said: "While the emergence of 30 extra police officers across Dyfed-Powys is very welcome, and there is no compensation for extra bobbies on the beat, I believe it remains a fact that people feel most confident when there is a fixed point of contact. I hope the Commissioner will recognise the importance of this for the people of Llandysul and the surrounding area when considering the future of the police station.”

Mr Williams added: “I would encourage all constituents who have concerns about the police station to contact the Commissioner. I gather several options have been suggested and will be considered in due course. I await the outcome of the consultation with interest.”
