Two Cardigan men have been jailed for almost 14 years in total for a gun attack over a dartboard.

Thomas Eley, aged 27, of Heol Hafod, was deemed by Judge Huw Davies to be dangerous as defined by law.

He was jailed for seven years but will be liable to be recalled to prison until July, 2024.

Steven Brown, 28, of Feidr-fair, was jailed for six and a half years.

Both had admitted aggravated burglary at the home of Paul Dare.

Swansea crown court had heard how the men barged their way into Mr Dare’s home and that Eley threatened him with a gun before beating around the head with it and punching him.

The court heard that they had got themselves into such a state they believed they could recover a dartboard from Mr Dare that someone else would pay a ransom for.

But after being arrested they could not remember who might have wanted the board back or who it really belonged to.
