Cardigan mayor Cllr Gwynfi Jenkins was on hand to help builders dismantle the scaffolding that has been covering Castle Green House for nearly a decade.
As contractors move into the final phases of the £11m restoration project, Cllr Jenkins and Ceredigion chairman Cllr John Adams-Lewis were there to witness the dismantling of the steel cladding that has obscured the house from public view since 2005. The giant crane, which sits in the middle of the front lawn, was used to help bring down the massive steel struts.
The duo were also given a quick tour of the site which is due to open to the public in spring next year.
The scaffolding poles will be removed later on this summer.
