AN independent Task and Finish Group, exploring how Local Growth Zones could bring jobs and economic benefits to the Teifi Valley, is calling for evidence from interested parties.

Mid and West Wales AM Rebecca Evans, who welcomed the launch of the Growth Zone in July, is urging local businesses, organisations and individuals to have their say on how the Local Growth Zone can deliver jobs and growth in the area.

The Task and Finish Group is developing proposals based upon the innovative approach taken in Powys, to explore how this model can be applied to the Teifi Valley.

Mrs Evans said: “This is the chance for individuals and businesses to have their say on how they would like the Teifi Valley Local Growth Zone to help grow the local economy.

“This tailored approach to economic development means that actions can be taken to support business development by responding to the specific needs and circumstances of the local area.”

Delyth Humfryes MBE, who is chairing the group said: “We want to develop a model that focuses on the issues affecting businesses in a rural area and key towns and to do this effectively we want input from as many people as possible and welcome their involvement.”

Interested parties need to submit their comments (no more than 500 words) by 5pm on October 23, email: teifivalley@wavehill.com or post to Teifi Valley, FREEPOST, SWC5256, Lampeter, SA46 0ZY.

Organisations and individuals not wishing for their names and addresses to be published should state this on their responses.
