Three men and a woman have gone on trial accused of inciting a 13 year old boy from the Aberystwyth area to have sex with her.

Brian James Eccleston aged 32, of Derwydd, 2 Cilgwyn Row, Wind Street, Llandysul, his girlfriend, Emmanie Louise Angela Hughes, 31, of the same address, Peter Sweetman aged 32, of Flat 4 Cawdor House, Cawdor Terrace, Newcastle Emlyn, and Iwan Walker, 24 of Penlon, Saron, near Llandysul, deny the charge.

Hughes is also accused of sexual activity with a child.

James Jenkins, prosecuting, told Swansea crown court that Walker knew the boy and "knew full well how old he was."

He said in February 2011 Walker invited the boy to stay the night at his caravan and his mother dropped him off.

But a short time later he received a telephone call and told the boy they were going to visit the home of some of his friends.

Eccleston arrived to pick them up and he drove them to Llandysul.

Once there, the boy was incited to have sex with Hughes, said Mr Jenkins.

"He was not the only one. It would appear that all the defendants had sex with her or at least were actively watching and encouraging each other."

Mr Jenkins said there was no doubt the boy had sexual intercourse with Hughes as part of it was videoed.

"There is no doubt this group sex took place and that the boy was part of it with the active encouragement and excitement of the defendants," he added.

The boy was collected by his mother the following day "and she thought he did not seem himself."

After he showed his mobile telephone to a friend his mother was informed and the police were called.

The boy was interviewed by police and told them he had been pressurised by Ecclestone to have sex with Hughes.

Cross examined by barristers for the defendants, the boy denied he had claimed to have been 16, or saying he was a virgin and that he wanted to have sex for the first time.

The court heard that after their arrests the defendants said they had had no idea the boy was as young as 13 otherwise nothing sexual would have happened.

The case continues.
