In January The Cellar Bards are featuring short fiction as a special evening of open mic readings. No poetry is allowed for this month’s one-off live literature event, on Friday, January 30, at The Cellar Bar, Cardigan.

Everyone is welcome to read a short story of up to about 1,600 words – and in a shameless copy of The Guardian awards (http://www.theguardian.com/books/badsexaward ), all readers are invited to enter the Bards’ ‘Bad Sex Awards’ competition. Just a few badly written lines about a sexual encounter could win you a prize.

Doors and the bar open at 7.30pm, the event starts at 8pm. Entry is £3. Put your name down at the door if you want to read. Or just go along and listen to a great variety of spoken word literature from many talented local writers.

The February Cellar Bards will be on Friday, February 27, again at The Cellar Bar, Cardigan, 8pm. Special guest will be award winning poet and performer Mab Jones. Open mic as usual.
